Oren Cheifetz , BSc PT, PhD
Oren is a Physiotherapist who is a Canadian
Physiotherapy Association Certified Clinical Specialist in Oncology.
He practiced with inpatients on a hematology-oncology
unit. He is an Associate Clinical Professor, McMaster
University. Oren is Past Chair of the Oncology Division,
Canadian Physiotherapy Association. He has published
in The Journal of Psycho-Oncology,
Physiotherapy Canada, The Journal of Medical
Accupunture, and other publications. Oren's PhD research focussed on
cancer and exercise.
Jan Park Dorsay, RN(EC), MN, CON(C), RMFT
Jan is a Nurse Practitioner, and practices with
inpatients and outpatients in an oncology rehabilitation program. She is
an Assistant Clinical Professor, McMaster University.
Jan is a Certified Oncology Nurse, and Clinical
Fellow, Canadian Association of Marriage and Family
Therapy. She is a past member of the Canadian Breast
Cancer Foundation Research and Health Care Advisory
Committee (Ontario Division). Jan has
published in The Journal of Psycho-Oncology, Spinal
Cord, The Journal of Neurology and other
publications. Jan is the Hamilton, Ontario recipient
of the 2013 Women of Distinction award for Health and
Active Living.
Oren Cheifetz and Jan Park Dorsay have worked with clinicians, cancer survivors, researchers, exercise specialists and program development specialists to design, implement and evaluate cancer rehabilitation programs in hospital and community settings. They have taught, and presented their work across Canada. Oren was the Principal Investigator, and both are founding team members of the CanWell Program, an evidence based, community exercise and education program for cancer survivors. The CanWell Program was the recipient of the Cancer Care Ontario 2010 Innovation Award.
